Who among us can ever forget the years of 2020 and 2021? …

In 2020 they started with the lockdowns, and the ‘work from home’ and ‘stay at home’ orders. People were actually being approached by police for sitting, enjoying some fresh air in a public park!

​

When we weren’t allowed to go on holiday; to visit friends/family (people were actually snitching on their neighbours); to visit elderly relatives in nursing homes; or sadly, to attend funerals of friends and relatives who passed.

​

Then there was the masking, when you had to mask in public places and stand 6 feet apart. I, for one, bought myself a Sunflower Card for £2 online … ‘my hidden disability makes me exempt from wearing a face covering’. I used to walk into shops and all the other shoppers would be staring at me, with big, bulging eyes above their masks.

Then along comes 2021 and the dreaded vaccine rollout.

People being coerced and manipulated … "you’re going to lose your job", "you’re never going to be able to fly again", "you’re going to kill your granny!"

​

I remember not being allowed into family’s homes. I also remember neighbours crossing the street to get away from me because I chose not to be vaccinated. And yet, we are the ones who never seem to get sick.

​

For surviving all of this, I think we all deserve a pat on the back, and yes, a Certificate of Achievement; something we can be proud to show the grandkids, that we lived through and survived the greatest psychological fear campaign in human history.
